Let's agree this is wrong in every way.

Let's all agree that french pedicures are totally fucking classless and disgusting. K?

French manicures are bad enough. French pedicures are a crime. FRENCH WOMEN DON'T TO THIS. Strippers do. It's totally ghetto. It blows my mind how even suburban American women have adopted a porn-star aesthetic as somehow enviable. Fucking gross.

I go for buffed nails (when I am not too lazy to keep that up...) and dark toes with high shine.

How do my fabulous blog friends do toes and nails? Do tell. And how often does everyone go for pedicures? Weekly? Twice a month? Monthly? At home?

OPI Bubble Bath on toes and nails, used to be once a week cause the place is next door almost, but now I'm too lazy and I go every w or 3 weeks. I was in LA about 25 years ago and came home to Houston with the first French manicure ever seen in this state. I was so fine. It was also the first Vietnamese manicure I ever got for the cheap $10. Oh, such sweet memories.

OMG, I miss San Francisco for it's $14 pedicures EVERYWHERE.

Ok, if you were rocking a french manicure that long ago, you practically started the trend, therefore, you are so ahead of the curve. I bet you don't wear 'em now, eh? Either way, CDT, you're so fabulous you could get away with anything...

Love your blog!

Thank you - finally someone else is saying it! I hate this look so much it makes me want to be eye- wateringly rude to complete strangers.
Summer once a week, winter every other week.

I know what you mean. I think the weirdest part is that women actually grow their toes out in order to do this look. Toes are supposed to be short, not long daggers. Eew.

i did it once.

once.

and my childrend told me it looked like i needed to trim my toe nails.

out of the mouths of babes.

i'm a 'vamp' girl or a basic blue/red for the toes. my short finger nails will occaissionally get these colors too. but they mostly get the 'ballet pink'

my hands are not pretty. they usually have paint or glue or some such grawdew. so i must keep them manicured...professionally.

We are so on the same page.I am not a fan of long fingernails and certainly not toenails! I buff the fingernails and do my own toenails. Too nervous about getting an infection! Remember when Paula Abdul almost lost her thumb?! AND I do a much better job! And, it is sort of like doing yoga and getting a pedicure at the same time...well sort of.

I am loving clear polish on my toes. Suddenly my toes are adorable! My fingernails are almost always ballet-ish pink (because the only other color I love is Nars Jungle Red and I feel like my clients expect me to not have whore nails).

I think you have a good idea of exactly how often I hit the salon...

French manicures and pedicures are very "Footballers' Wives."

I keep my nails short. Samoan Sand (pale neutral) on the fingers, bright pink on the toes.

Never a french mani or pedi. Those are for women who wear Juicy sweatsuits. Money is tight, so I give myself at-home pedis with Vamp.
