Link swap. Let's get totally rich & famous together.

That's ok, my little birdy... Apartment Therapy rejected me, too.*

Do you have a design blog? Is it on my blog roll? If not, please leave a comment and let me know who you are and where your blog is.

I would love to have a link swap so we can discover each other's blogs and increase cross-readership.

I tried to get listed on Apartment Therapy's site during their July Link Swap to no avail. Then again, I break the rules with non-decor rants like the Jil Sander post and I probably use the word "fuck" more than they care to see. So.... I guess I'll just host my own damn link swap, thank you very much.

Today's post inspired by blog Brilliant Asylum which I *love* to read and just realized it wasn't even on my blog roll.... until now. Her Thursday post is just total eye candy. Enjoy.

*No longer true. A blogging friend let me know a few months after posting this that Apartment Therapy SF finally added me to their links. I like how before I was all.... "well screw them!" and now of course, I'm all, "Those people are brilliant and have great taste!" I am shameless.

Hi Decorno
I'm all for reciprocal link exchanges. You have been on my blog list for awhile. I think it is a great thing to do for promoting blogging etiquette. If you want to graze on my blog leave a comment and a link would be great too.
Thanks for the link and for this post.
Kind Regards
and here's to blogging etiquette

I don't think AT has added *anyone* to their blogroll in, like, a year. I think that link-swap thing actually meant something like, "You list us now, and we'll *maybe* list you in 8 months, or whenever we get around to it ... " So, see -- you still have hope.

But anyway, you're already on my blogroll, chica.

Hi Leah & Patricia - I have added you both to my blog roll. How lazy have I been not to do so already!

And Leah, you crack me up. I am glad I am not the only one who felt the cold shoulder from AT. I've been feeling like the kid not picked for the dodgeball team since July.

You are too funny on your link for me: clean, smart, chic design...thanks for the link!! and BTY I think the f**k word can be a totally chic adjective used in appropriate situations. Had to use it today myself on a job-site, makes the otherwise slovenly wake up and take notice.

decorno.blogspot.com said...

Ok, this is great news, Patricia! I actually was thinking of you as I wrote today's post & I was assuming that you might be in the no "fuck"-as-fabulous-gerund camp. So glad you are not!

Potty mouths unite.

Just found you blog and added yours to mine.
We dont need a swap, mine is new and not exactly 'designy'. Just wanted to tell you i think your taste in stuff is oh so coool.

Well I say f**k 'em -anyway if I wanted to read magazines like Dwell I'd buy a copy - I want to see personality. I want to see the ideas and the people behind the aesthetic - not read about the basic crap I already know or view images I have already seen 10 times before.
You are on my list because you do say f**k.

Thanks for adding me to your link list--and for the mention! My traffic suddenly increased.

Please don't go changin. As much as I appreciate a ladylike discussion of needlepoint throw pillows, only an f-bomb can set certain ideas straight.

franki durbin said...

you're on my list, darling... add me to yours. And my opinion of AT is not what it should be. Actually, not AT specifically, just all blogs that have reach a certain critical mass and have more of an anonymous tone in their voice. I relish the blogs and bloggers who enjoy a nice banter back and forth.

bring it on, baby! bring it on!

Barb McMahon said...

Hi! Please check out my blog. It's design-y, vintage-y, DIY-y. With the occasional rant (though I save most of those for my food blog).

I don't use the f-word in it, since my Aunties sometimes read it. But thank you! I'm trying to group my blog links in useful and appropriate ways. May I use "Potty Mouths Unite" for f-word-friendly blogs?

Well I don't have a blog but I read your glorious blog and pass it on to other unenlightened readers and it would seem that all your blogger 'friends' are some of my fav blogs as well...as it should be! You are refreshing, ultra witty, stylish and most importantly a brilliant writer. Unfortunately for AT, none of these adjectives could be used recently. Rock on Decorno!!

Hi Decorno!

I read your blog all the time but just realized you weren't on my blogroll. Oops! I've righted my wrong. Hope your not f-ing mad at me ;-)

Barb - we are two peas in a pod. I am obsessed with vintage and your post suggesting that "we don't have to bring it all home" cracked me up. I will certainly add your blog today!

Anonymous - thanks for the mad props. I am so glad you like this blog.

Habitually Chic - I don't f-ing hate you, I promise! :)

You're already in my blogroll! But I wanted to say not to feel bad, I didn't get into apartment therapy's links swap either. And I don't swear alot :)

As you know, we are already linked, dear friend. Who needs Apt. Therapy? Not us.

That's so funny Lainey. You're a great writer though.
Don't worry they'll link you...
You're already on my blogroll.

These comments are hilarious. I haven't had such a good laugh in a while. I too subscribe to the truck driver school of effective communication when necessary. anyone who has ever really worked a design job site has had to go there at one time or another! I just did a post flaunting my status as a trim slut. I usually say trim whore but I did feel an unspoken need to clean it up for blog world. Maybe now I will be a bit more loose (no pun intended) with my language. You are already on my list of favs but I would love to be added to yours.

Too funny! They love the phrase for f**k's sake over here in the UK. Sort of like for heaven's sake, or used in a sentence—Oh for f**k's sake, decorno is awesome, add her to your blog role!

Sorry you didn't get picked up by AT. More for us. I'm adding you to Perfect Bound right now!

i think i took AT off of my list because i'm, uh. well a sore loser... sometimes. i'm also finicky, so i may have stuck it back on. can't remember.

of course from the moment you told me something i posted looked like suburban bored housewife drek...you got my vote and i linked you.

(fingers in devil horns, tongue out, rocking my head forward like a white snake concert goer)

decorno.blogspot.com said...

Beachy8/Megan - I love the image of you going all White Snake/Tawny Kitaen (sp?) on us!

Well, AT... I still love 'em, but they don't give us any love, the readers. Maybe we need to start housetherapy for non-apartment dwellers and have 8 - 12 of us manage the blog together. Just a thought. Something more interactive and show houses that don't just have old scuffed danish modern chairs in them.

That's right - hop on the Bitter Bus, kids!

i'm in for the link switch! i also love sofia coppola's apt...

beachbungalow8 said...

i'm 'in' as a fellow blogger for this new endeavor. "house therapy", "partners in therapy", "a-pparantly i need therapy", "apartmentalized therapy"--we do it room by room, "i want to be a part of your therapy'---i think you have something here.

shelley said...

As an avid reader of both beachbungalow8 and Decorno, i say DO IT!! although i don't know how much wit and style i could take with the likes of you two. what a THERAPeutic idea...:)

I've only just discovered your blog, but I'd love to swap links with you. I agree with Franki's comments, I'm sure AT started out small with only a few readers and fewer comments, so forgetting where they came from and ignoring readers is pretty poor form. And I'm with you - the 'f' word is so underrated!

Hi. I'm just starting to create a blog roll. I found your sight by accident, but glad I did! My blog isn't all about decorating but I'd like to think I share a lot of interesting tidbits. If you'd like to add me to your links, I'd appreciate it! I'll be adding you to mine. Thanks for a great read!

Hi Suzy! Love your blog, and I love that tidbit about Kelly Wearstler teaming up with Bergdorf to create her own home accessories store! Glad you found my blog so that I could find yours!

decorno.blogspot.com said...

Hi Darla! Your blog is way too dangerous for me. You have pictures of cookies, for god's sake! That's a kind of porn far worse than decorno, in my mind... way too tempting. :)

I am starting a design blog soon and you will definitly be on my blog list. i think your blog is brilliant and you crack me up! I'll keep reading daily..Thanks!

Hey there Decorno,
I don't see anything wrong with using the word 'fuck'. It is a perfectly versatile word, maybe even the most versatile word ever. Now that you have my view on the versatility of curse words i'd like to extend to you an invitation to check out my brand spanking new blog. It doesn't really have much on it yet but it's still only a baby. It will grow big and strong eventually and it would be great if when it does, it has another awesome blog like yours to hang out with.

-Apryll

P.S I love your blog...i actually read it instead of just looking at the pictures.

I totally agree with Patricia about link exchanges and blog etiquette. Love the title of this post and I definitely have you added to my blogroll. I had to laugh about your totally frank about being shameless for AT. You are soo funny. Love it.

Well, I guess you're full up, since this is a 2007 entry :-) But please put me on the waiting list to be included.
Decorno was the first blog I ever read, and the first link I added.
Thanks, from a loving bloginsita
