We talked about hatin' on houseplants yesterday. I am more of a cut flowers & branch girl myself.
And I also like big gestures, like this.
My life will be complete when I have a home with an entrance so big I get to buy a big table like this and place stacks of books and big-ass flowers like these on said table.

i know what you mean. Chloe Warner (www.redmondaldrich.com) has been known to make such statements. In(Side) the Loop (http://insideloop.blogspot.com/search?q=chloe+warner) has some great images of her apartment.
Okay, I gotta confess. I read the title and immediately looked real hard at the statue. For at least 15 seconds. Then I read the rest of the post and felt like a gutter minded moron...

Love ya, baby, but not a big fan of coming into a house and right away having a lot of stimuli, especially BIG stimuli, to process: Leaves, statues, books, tables with complicated joints, etc., etc. (What a killjoy I am.)

Actually, I think those are two leaves in a vase. (Agree it looks smashing.)

Decorno, You are TOALLY just into that statue of nekkid David, I know you are trying to convince us it is about the flowers and cut branches, but come on!
I agree that it would be heaven to have a large entry foyer for a center table with fresh flowers. What a way to leave and come home.
