Oh - crap! I totally forgot...

In fact, I *do* have something new to post, other than updates about me having The Plague...

So, my lovely fiance Jon is a creative director for an ad agency (or something. I mean, who knows what he really does all day, right?)

Anyhoo... he has - no joke - the most obscenely comprehensive music collection known to man and an ability to know just the right song for every moment. He's missed his calling as a music supervisor for films, creating and getting rights for soundtracks.

So we're going to try this:

Post your playlist wishlist... like, "I just broke up with boyfriend and even though I called it off all I do is drive by his house to see if he's fucking that account manager in his office..." or "Taking a road trip through LA with my friends for the last time because come on admit it we are all turning 30 and men and babies will soon run our lives and we will never feel free or sexy again..."

You know... that shiz.

I know this is random, but I think it could be fun.

Wackiest playlist request will get a custom CD mailed to them from my beloved. Winner will be announced and playlist will be published to everyone's amusement.

This whole banana is inspired by Turquoise, who has this cool playlist widget on her blog. She has the BEST music. I tend to read her blog and just leave it up in the background for music in the morning.

music for sending son off to college second semester, feeling like I just can't wait to drop him off on 7th avenue in NYC where his school is, then buzz up Fifth Avenue in my convertible, ear muffs on, blasting music (at least once in your life, you need to drive a convertible in Manhattan-it's wild)

Music to find a zen place before my tsumani of a mother-in-law arrives. Last time she blew in, I broke out in hives and had to wear turtlenecks for over a week. Any self respecting fashionista (you Decorno)knows that is not a good look if you have a large chest. Help me from facing another week of uni-boob! I seriously need calm before the storm!

even though i have just asked aforementioned creative diretor to make me a CD just because, I still want to try to win this contest (it's my competitive nature, natch), so...

music for when i think my husband the airline pilot is spending too much time with flight attendents and even though he's not doing anything wrong, i feel the need to pick a fight, so i use that as my bait.

Ooooh, that is a good one. I mean, not to show bias so early in the competition or anything...

music for the day you turn 34 and realize that the boyfriend you've been dating has never said "i love you" after almost 2 years of dating! WTF??

OK: music to soothe your nerves as you drive home wondering what your dog has done to the house during bouts of separation anxiety while confined indoors during rain storms. Then.... music to listen to while you patch wooden door jambs (probably something "snappy"). thank you!!

Music to soothe your nerves as your mother tells you, in detail, over the phone, about how her stroke-victim neighbor's feeding tube got obstructed and she and the stroke victim's wife had to take him to the hospital to get it cleaned out, a process that involved a physician's assistant and a giant syringe.

music to get me interested in actually doing work for the rest of the day except it's Friday, it's 5:50 and I have to stay for at least another hour and every fiber of my being would prefer to read blogs and play that Scrabble game on Facebook but I want to be good at my job and not be one of those people. So. Yeah. Friday late afternoon motivation mood music please.

You must be on the west coast, because I am totally in the same boat as you... trying to finish a project, but wasting time in blogland...

Music by which to eat Oreo Doublestuff and dream of being Brody Jenner's cougar.

I need music to play when I have that obnoxious customer standing in front of me, trying to monopolize my attention for 45 minutes, blocking my view of the rest of my store, interrupting me with other customers, asking to see everything in the case only to say, "I'm not really buying today but thanks. ARGGGHHHH!

For when my husband comes home from work and tells me he’s been offered the job of his dreams. Oh yeah, we will most likely be moving to SINGAPORE within the next 6 months. I’m in desperate need of music to keep me from hysterically crying in fear, music to excite me for the unbelievable adventures that lie ahead, and music to help me cope with the process of accepting a foreign country as my new “home.” I need something perfect for my soul, my heart, and my jittery nerves.

..oh yeah. It would be even better if the CD was at least 21 hours long. You know. To cover the back and forth flights between Texas and Singapore. OK that's all. Thanks....

Music for when I abandon the midwestern frozen tundra, the job and the three kids (well, actually the one kid, the husband and the puppy) for a weekend of hunting for treasure in Manhattan!

Back in the old days when I was a teenager, before caller i.d. and call waiting, and computers and cell phones and almost color tvs, and air conditioning in schools (god how we suffered), we would call our old bfs and hang up on them - you know - just to hear their voice, or see if they were home. This practice could reach epic proportions after a break up. what do lovesick teenage girls do now?

You know who has a great playlist that lasts hours and hours - Sophie Honeysuckle, love her name! I put it on the background like you. going to go listen to turquoise now.

OK - give me a playlist for the going through menopause, hot flashes, dried up skin, thinning hair, wrinkled face blues.

Music is for taking on the world. You know when you're on the bus and the crazy next to you is laughing hysterically or you're walking past a construction site. It blocks out all the ugly in the world, puts a smile on my face and a swing in my step.

Read for a long run on sentence?

Something fun and super upbeat that can keep me focused for a zillion hours on end as I continue to write reports at work but nothing too loud that will actually detract from the task or,make me not focused in the unfortunate way jam bands do, where i feel strung out immediately though normally i do love the 60's psychadelia

I am requesting a playlist for January mornings in Michigan where the sun so rarely shines one begins to question that it still exists, which makes one want to stay in bed and read books all day while eating chocolate and drinking coffee, except one might have already done that in December because one was pre-menstrual over the holidays (there ought to be a law!) and now one's jeans are fitting rather snuggishly and so one MUST get out of bed in order to lead one's new, healthy lifestyle...except one doesn't know how one is going to summon the strength.

Please send help.

Music for house warming party after buying and moving into husbands family's house after parent's death, then waiting 2 years for little brother to graduate high school and move out, then enduring 1 year of renovating in which my husband and I move in to my parent's house all the while patiently trying to build a pretty nest and plan things in order.

Wow - you don't need a CD... you need a big bottle of vodka! Holy cow, that is quite a few years you've had...

Wow, seriously late to the party, but this is so The Thing I Have Wanted All My Life!!! (and you get to take advantage of this ability all the time when you marry this guy? jealous!) Here goes...

Music for breaking up with my current married boyfriend bc I'm moving from NYC back to AZ where I will be spending my free time trying to convince my ex-married boyfriend who is almost 20 years older than me and now divorced that I should be his next wife.
