Finally!

Robbed of Best Actor when nominated for Before Night Falls, I was delighted that my future 2nd husband, Javier Bardem, fetched himself a little statue last night at the gay superbowl.

In other news, I lost. I think I only got about 7 right. My fiance was counting and didn't bother rigging it for me which might have pissed me off except that he fronted my $10 for the betting pool, so I guess I didn't really lose anything after all. Oh well.

Did anyone else have an Oscar party? Aren't we so glad the strike is over? And how cute were those two from Once?

I love me some Oscars.

I thought they were so cute and Javier's speech was the sweetest. No grand party for me just a party of one which was perfect.

I thought Javier's mum was the Best Dressed. Loved all the silver jewellery. Kinda Angelica Huston-from-the-Life-Aquatic crossed with Georgia OKeefe. Or something.

Went to one of the officially sanctioned Oscar parties. Dead boring.

Hey, where's my design porn? Leave the Oscar's to the pages of Domino where they belong! Just kidding!

Did you see Once? It's such a sweet little movie. I saw it before I found out that the actors wrote and performed all their own songs for the movie and then fell in love. I thought it was nice of Jon Stewart to bring her back out. I'm so happy they won!

I dug Tilda Swinton's acceptance speech. You sort of couldn't tell what her accent was, or even her gender, exactly. She was working a kind of "Man Who Fell to Earth" persona.

decorno, as i gay man, i am terribly offended at your "the oscars are the gay superbowl" comment.

please, we all know the gay superbowl only happens every 4 years at the men's gymnastics portion of the summer olympics.

i think the academy awards are the "gay stanley cup" at best.

The Superbowl should be known as "the Oscars for dullards."

I haven't seen "there will be blood" yet, but I really think Javier should have won best Actor. He was awesome as the creepy pshycopath in "no country for old men"!

Maison, you crack me up! I guess I hadn't really thought of Olympic gymnastics as the main event, but now that I think of all those bulging tights, I totally get it.

I think it's Daniel Day Louis playing all those roles, including the chick in Juno.

I think my favorite moment was watching Helen Mirren as she said "cojones". When does HM get her Lifetime Achievement Award?

I loved what he said about having the worst hair cut in a movie. Best line of the whole night, though I'm sure I've bastardized it here.
