Porn. Porn for people like us, that is...

Um, when I named the blog Decorno (decor + porno) these are exactly the kinds of images that caused me to do such a thing.

Yum. Yum yummy yummers. Yum. Yum.

Courtesy of For Me, For You. (Ok, so it's going to seem self serving that I posted this because their recent post is, well, about Decorno... but scroll down to see their post about a store in New Orleans called Perch.

Yes, isn't this store wonderful? I agree, this store would be considered similar to porn, but for people like us. thanks to andrea from the blog "for me, for you" I found out about your lovely blog. :-)

Okay, that second picture makes me want to go down and work on my living room. I've been locked up about it, but now I know what to do. Or rather, I feel what to do. I need to get down there in it to really figure it out. It's not the specific objects, but rather the feel of that room that inspires. Thanks for posting (and for the link to the other blog; why not spread the joy?)

Okay, I think I am going to have to visit New Orleans ASAP so that I can experience this store in person!

thank f'ing god for some photos with nary a starburst mirror, David Hicks-ian print, mirrored table, wacky-painted bergere or Jonathan Adler ANYTHING in sight! Holy shit I have been getting sick of that stuff.

TNF - you crack me up.

I am glad you said that. I like that David Hicks business, to be honest, but I also LOVE old stuff, vintage stuff, antique stuff and anything else I can find at a junk shop or flea market. It's been a hard few years for people who still swoon when they find a vintage green demijohn or old wooden dynamite crates at a flea market, you know? That's why I loved this store. What a great mix of antiques, contemporary art, graphic prints. It's a little bit like Trend Stew. Shows you how you can kind of have it all if you get the mix right.

I gotta admit, I like most of the stuff the Nerdy Fashionista lists, but I don't want it in my house (for now; when it becomes tasteless again, I'll grab it up).

great shop, great pics

Magazine Street = San Fernando Valley.

Porn, porn and more porn!

I have a few prized things I've purchased there and also fond memories of walking all the way back from Magazine to my hotel in the French Quarter (at dusk, in January!) because I missed the bus (due to standing on the wrong side of the street, duh).

Oh yeah - I'm with you - yum. Great mix of fun.

I will be in New Orleans for a wedding party at the end of March. I MUST find this delicious store. Oh, and thank you so much for your sweet comment! I think you are my blog "idol"... Hope that didn't sound to creepy... :)

OMG this is truly porn for us. It looks like an AmAzing store!! Decorno, well said about loving vintage and antique finds. My friends find it hilarious that I can get so fired up when I talk about chairs and sofas lol. If I had space to collect vintage sofas, I really would!

I live up the street from Perch - a delish store, and super nice people own it and run it. Right across the street is Neophobia for all the modernists and Hollywood Regency fans, and down the block is swanky Villa Vici. And these are only 3 great stores of zillions that run up and down Magazine Street! NOLA is decorno central!
