Presto change-o...

These shots are from Navy & Gray. She managed to pull off a great before & after. With just a few key elements changed, the room looks perfectly pulled together.

Reminds me that not every project in the house is daunting. A few rooms could be revived in just one weekend. I am inspired.

I love it! Will you please tell us the details on the duvet cover -- where is it from?

Next controversy:

Little throw pillow of various sizes on the bed: Like? Hate? Replace with samovars?

Anon--I generally don't like little pillows but I have one. I hate my bedding (hate my bedroom furniture, for that matter) and since I can't afford to change the bedding, I tossed an old cranberry colored pillow (with ruffles! Gah!) in the middle of the bed to bring out the fuschia in an otherwise predominantly blue/green duvet. It's by no means a award winning moment in design (the whole room is quite ugly), but it helps me feel less grumpy about my bedroom and current financial status.

(I do believe if any of you saw my matching 90s bedroom set complete with sleigh bed you would beg Decorno to prohibit me from commenting.)

Anon--I think the lamps are Pier One. I was eyeballing them for my nightstand a while back, but thought they might be too big. I guess I was wrong.

Anyway, if they aren't Pier One that store has some quite similar and as of mid January were on sale for 50% off.

Jules: Are you kidding? I LOVE your comments, the more honest the better.

I dislike the li'l pillows too. It seems like (except in your case) a solution to a non-existent problem.

Aw, thanks Anon. :)

I really like that bedding. It's so nice and crisp and white and everything I will never have because I have two boys, two dogs, and an aversion to laundry.

it's ok

Agree, she did a great job. I hadn't realized how annoying that quilting on the "before" duvet was until she got rid of it.

I really Love before and after photos and this is a great example of how just changing a few items can really alter the look of the whole room. Great post!

Thanks guys! Anon-yes, I got the lamps at Pier 1. The "before" duvet was awful. It was cream and ugly and gave the entire room this strange yellow vibe. Not cool.

Small changes are the way to go. I do not have the financial freedom to completely overhaul my house so I do small things every so often. It is so much fun to find things on sale and say "OMG! That would be PERFECT in my den/bedroom/kitchen."

Thanks again Decorno for the sweet post!
