Vacation home porn.

"This 1,000 square-foot weekend cabin, basically a steel box on stilts, can be completely shuttered when the owner is away. Situated near a river in a floodplain, the 20’ x 20’ square footprint rises three stories and is topped by the living room/kitchen. Large, 10’ x 18’ steel shutters can be closed simultaneously using a hand crank."

We're on the same wavelength...I was just looking at land in the Methow Valley. I would love to have something modern built.

I.must.have.that. I think that is the coolest thing I have seen in a long, long time. If it were made from recycled materials I might just pass out.

Could I tear down my house and build that instead, I want it for year 'round.

Huh, you know, it's true. I used to crave outrageous luxurious hotel rooms when vacationing. Hell, I wanted to live in them year-round. Nowadays, less is more. I keep thinking of a Cycladic house on a Greek island... As long as it gets the breezes.

Aww mane... I need that cabin in my life. I would paint it some bright ass color though. But that might attract whatever is out in the wilderness.

1,000 seems sort of big! I've seen this elsewhere but not this beautiful photograph! It's like a lantern in the wilderness - I love the man-made aspects of it (very square and rectilinear) vs. the rustic (rusted cortenze steel) right in the country.
