I am pretty sure that when you go to this person's house, she reads your your tarot cards.

Which would be kinda fun, really.

Speaking of - are you superstitious? Do you pay attention to astrology and people's signs and all of that? I recently got a tiny little notebook to keep in my wallet and it has the Chinese animals and a list of the correlating years, so my party trick is to get people talking about if they are a pig or dragon or whatever and figure out what it all means. It's amusing. Sometimes it's spot-on. The Fortune Telling Birthday Book (HERE), is also weirdly perfect for the 12 or so people whose birthday's I've looked up.

Are you a believer? Do you think you are your "sign"?

I am so superstitious but don't like tarot and those kinds of things... I don't want to know what's going to happen, lol...
But I won't ever go down a stair, or buy a cat or a fish to have at home!, lol... And, of course, I won't ever, ever make anything important in a 13th! lol...
And about that house I just love lights garlands like that!!!!!!!!

I believe when the commentary is favourable! Oh, and I do think that I'm quite like my sign.

Astrology is so fun! I was at a party last year where they did my chart and it was SO me. I would love to hire that person to come to one of mine. It really gets people talking.

I do not believe.

In fact, I first realized my MIL is, in fact, INSANE, when she offered to do draw up a star chart for me. Five minutes after meeting me. After asking my sign, and then saying, "Oh, Aquarians are always weird."

(Pot, meet kettle.)

Yes on all counts.

Astrology is more than your sun sign. Your rising/ascending sign also determines your personality (along with a host of other things, too). My two signs, together, very much reflect my personality.

I don't know if I believe in all that but I do think it would be fun to have a little tarot soiree with the girls with cocktails and some lady reading the cards.

The logical side of my Gemini self says no, but the superstitious side wants to believe the horoscopes, the tarot cards, and that the stars have aligned my fate.

Years ago I had my tarot cards read at a corporate party in New Orleans. Her preditions seemed so preposterous, but I wrote them down out of curiosity and stashed them away. When I moved three years ago I came across them and was astounded at how dead-on she had been (and these were very specific predictions, not nebulous "you will have a new job/take a trip" assumptions). It was kind of freaky, and ever since, I have been tempted to go have them read again somewhere...

I would hold at my palm and a $20 bill upon entering that house! Very interesting...

I love that room. It's pretty much my ideal kitchen. Some day mine will be that groovy.

As far as astrology and stuff is concerned; I have an uncanny fascination for it tempered with high doses of skepticism. I read tarot cards in a consultative capacity for friends and such and am apparently spot on. I've had my own natal chart done and once all of the blanks (sun in Capricorn, moon in Aquarius, Aries ascendant...yadda, yadda, yadda...) were filled in I could see that it far more accurately reflected my personality than the simple sun sign description.

i am very concious of what i put out into the universe. i try not to say things or do things that will come back and get me. a couple of weeks ago my mother gave me a stand fan out of the blue. i told her we didn't need it but she insisted that everyone needs a fan. a week later our air conditioning broke. i'm still mad at her.

obviously i'm not too worried about how i can't spell the word conscious.

I don't really believe astrology, but like kelly I believe in being careful what to say/think. When you say a word, and picture it you are calling out for that to come. Actually there is scientific evidence proving the power and energy of words. Some ppl experimented with water, first said bad/negative words, like "evil" etc., the water crystallized in the most ugly hideous way. When spoken words like "angel" etc., the water crystallized in beautiful shapes that look like snow flakes. If you wanna read about it:

Or just google it.

Last time I had my palm read/ cards done, the gypsy-lady that did it said I had a spiritual guide.. someone I was close with that passed on, looking down on me... then, she proceeded to tell me that someone I was close to was going to be pregnant (ummm.. that's half my friends, and two sisters)... THEN, she told me I would find the man I was to spend my life with (mmmhmmm.. like 3 or 4 tries later)... THEN promptly charged me 25 dollars....

Fuck you, Mrs. Gypsy... I want back my money and the 20 minutes I just wasted...

I am a true Leo, but as commented, you have to look at the whole picture. I have my neurotic Virgo side as well.
I think there are a lot things out there, I know my spirtitual guides and how they work in my life. We all have them, just don't pay close attention. They come in the form of inspiration. Like when "something told me to do something" moment. Its not just your brain, I believe we have protection. Everybody has that moment and then realizes wow, I'm glad I went with my gut. Sometimes I think its a little more than instinct.

My dad is an astrology maniac and we always had those big giant birthday books in our house. For my 16th birthday he bought me a complete birthday chart reading, which is charted down to the minute you were born. It was unbelievable how accurate it was. I'm not a religious person at all so I guess I like to keep a little astrological belief with me and supersistions run crazy in my head to comfort me (I must put my shoes on left to right).
