Actual comments my fiance made about The Rachel Zoe Project:

"Is she trying to talk like that?"

"JESUS! She sounds like just like... like those a-holes on SNL."

"This is not going to be a show we share."

Hee, hee. I die.

OMG I totally die, I can not believe your fiance said that about the Rachel Zoe show. That is hysterical! The two a-holes on SNL is the best skit and he is so right...ha ha! Loves it! Your blog is fab by the way. The name is perfect. I have a severe addiction to decor so I will be here to visit regularly. Glad someone else is just as obsessed.

Cara

Am I the only one that thinks Rachael's husband is HotHotHot? And I go back and forth about thinking she's pretty/not pretty. But I actually like her personality (although I've only seen one show so far) I think that she's quick on her toes and very assertive. I HATE her girl assistant though........no one deserves to be treated the way she treats the guy assistant.

Hey Decorno, what's Lake Oswego like? Thinking of moving to PDX, don't want to live in the city but want that old established neighborhood feel.

Don't do it. LO is just a burb. No established city feel.

You should try NW Portland (around 21st or 23rd, but past Thurman so that you can find a place that won't break the bank.

Also, consider close-in SE or NE Portland. You'll be in real neighborhoods that way.

I would never live past the West Hills of Portland. Too soul-sucking.

Good luck!

Haha. If we had cable, and my husband happened to watch this show with me, he'd probably say the exact same things.

haha my boyfriend said close to the same thing! i tried to sneak it onto our tivo, but he found it and proceeded to make fun of it through the entire show. it's true that rachel zoe's not particularly eloquent, but the clothes are worth it! care to trade links?

I watch her in private. I would be too embarrassed if someone saw me watching this show.

ps her phrases perplex me. What does that mean, 'I die'. It doesn't sound reasonable. Also shuts it down bugs me. So I do have issues with her.

"What does that mean, 'I die'."

It means that she is literally dying, but in the cruel fashion world, everyone thinks it's only an idle phrase, so no one will call 911. At the end of the series, we discover that she has in fact been dead for three weeks, and her assistants have been carting her around and propping her up and miming her voice.

There are a ton of neighborhoods in Portland! Sellwood, Hollywood/Irvington, and Ladd's Addition/closer-in Hawthorne are great if you really want an old established neighborhood. Definitely go close-in eastside. Personally, I have avoided living on NW 21st/23rd. I work there. Everyone drives there because it's past the free fare zone and so there's always a ton of traffic. It's fun to go shopping and go eat at restaurants and such, but I prefer the east over the west. It's cheaper and you can find areas that are just as cool if they are a bit smaller. There isn't too much past Thurman that's residential. It turns industrial after that.

"Die" used to be an expression of orgasm. So when Juliet says that Romeo should be cut up into little stars when she dies, she's being sly and naughty. Don't know if that's what Rachel Zoe means or not, but the word has a long history!

Rachel Zoe does indeed have a hot piece of a husband. And I love Brad and wish to shelter him from Taylor's cruelty.

Anyone that watches Rachael Zoe needs to have his/her head examined. She is a joke. Hope this helps.
