Tiny houses.

I'm determined to have a place of my own either on San Juan Island or Orcas Island here in Washington sometime in the next 10 years.

These places - both tiny and certainly not as pricey as your standard home - might be my best option.

You can read about them HERE and see a slide show about these and other tiny homes.

Right about now one of these would be bliss.

I love this idea. There's a designer here in KC who has a fabulous place out in the country. It's a 3 story tower, about 20 foot square, all in stone. Not tiny really, but certainly small. The library in the garden is a separate structure and is tiny.

I love the little mod pods! I wonder if they have kitchens and baths?? They almost look too small.. I do think it would be so neat to have walls of glass and those stunning views!

ooh, that's my idea too. I want to buy a slice of land, preferably beachfront, and put a gd yurt on it. There are a few local companies doing it around here, toots. You've got loads of free time, make it happen.

As long as it has an open window and a view, I am all for it.

I would love one of these, or the yurt that Sara Richardson decorated in an episode of Design Inc. You can do a lot of living in a small space.

I like number 1 & 3, but that last one is a phone booth.

That last one seems like some kind of punishment cell.

Ah, forced to just one spoon, and one towel and one of these... would certainly simplify life on the planet.
You need a big property to make the proportions work. Tiny house, Huge Land.

I too have a tiny house fantasy, but I'd want it surrounded by a big gorgeous garden, too.
