Oh, Sarah.

I could hooker-up your look for way less than $150k. Trust me.

Those boots are just too trashy on Palin. Maybe because she's already a little trashy.

Condi did it better.

Palin's money is wasted. She apparently doesn't have any taste, as she surely doesn't look particularly well dressed for the kind of loot she spent. She looks rather blah, like a librarian or a school teacher, practical and not elegant, and her hairstyle is a throwback to the 60's. She most definitely does not look (vice)presidential, and when she opens her yap, she surely does not sound (vice)presidential, either.

Anonymous said...

Maybe she is "dressing down" to get people to take her seriously..........? Sorry, but it ain't workin'........

The Hee Haw Honey can't carry it. The moment she opens her mouth she shows that she is more comfortable shopping at K-Mart than Neiman Marcus!

I'm going to have to disagree... I hear ya, she's a little bit country, but I definitely wouldn't say Condi did it better- and I love me some Condi Rice! but she is SWIMMING in that dress, and she looks like the headmistress of a german school... sorry, I'm gonna have to go with Palin on this one.

Give me a break. Condi looks like something straight out of The Matrix.

Condi's coat IS wrong (did she steal it from Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation?), but the boots work better on her.

STOP THE HATE TOWARDS PALIN. Anyhow, how much $ has Biden spent on Botox and his eye-lift? PUHLEESE! As far as style is concerned, Palin is a good looking woman who has more than passed on the style grade. If you want to look at bad fashion, please examine Hillary's hideous pantsuits. YIKES!!!

Good call, Lecaro! Without tailoring, she'd might as well shop at Ann Taylor and save the money for adds. Oh, I forgot, she's supposed to be a PR asset.

And I agree with our conservative friend @7:13 that Hilary's pant-suits are horrid. She should fire her image consultant.

Is it the boots or the startling shock of the white knees? Acckk! And perhaps a little too much knee?!

Condi's dress is an inch or so longer and I swear that is the difference between classy and trashy in this case. I can't see the heel on Condi's boot in the pic, so I can't make a clear call on the boots.

Anonymous said...

Hair plugs? Then you DEFINITELY shouldn't vote for that ticket, Anon 9:39.

Good decision-making there. Way to cut through all that irrelevant policy stuff.

I'm going to have to go with Palin on this one.

Stop wasting your time getting political, pushing your ridiculous socialistic & liberal views is pathetic.

Blog on something you can add value to, fashion, not politics. People don't visit your site for your political views, so zip it!

citysage said...

Yikes! Never mind that the boxy cream jacket cuts her in half...she could have at least funneled some of that money towards a stylist and gotten a proper, flattering fit!

Though honestly...from Sarah to Hillary to Condi, none of them dress that well. No matter what your political persuasion, I think we can agree that the White House hasn't seen a truly stylish woman since Jackie Kennedy. Where's an elegant shift dress and pillbox hat when you need one!

Anonymous said...

Zip it?

Sarah has bad style- wow, now that's a good reason not to vote for her?!!! Biden's an absolute MORON- that's my reason for not voting for him/Obama. HE says racist things, he lies, he's PLAGIARIZED numerous times (and about his record), and has said some of the dumbest things period. That and the fact that he's been wrong on every significant foreign policy decision this country has made. I'll take the strong, savvy woman who has produced actual results for the people in her state over that diarreah-of-the-mouth lameass, Biden.

KatinkaPinka said...

the thing that bothers me the most about this particular look for palin is that her knees are showing. i'm a pretty firm believer that ladies over the age of 28 shouldn't wear skirts shorter than knee-length unless they have opaque tights on. i'm just totally old-fashioned like that...not saying there aren't exceptions, but it just seems so very unprofessional especially in this situation.

Kate said...

Until this came out I would have bet money she was shopping at The Dress Barn.

Cynthia said...

Yes, those boots look HORRIBLE on her! It's sad really.

Whatever "work" Joe Biden had done was not paid for by the DNC.

$150,000.00 from the RNC coffers paid for Palin's spree.

The most obvious and relevant point here:
Money can't buy taste.
But it can buy a damn nice botox job.

Anonymous said...

I don't think so. She's weak. She's anything BUT savvy. She's unethical. She panders to the lowest common denominator.

How pissed would you be if you gave money to the RNC. She's pandering to "Wal-Mart Moms" (her term, not mine) but accepting $4,500 on hair and make-up. and $150k on clothes. How many Wal-Mart moms shop at Neimans. I think they may have actually gained a few voters if they had come out and said they decided to use her own wardrobe and supplemented with JCPenney finds instead of wasting tons of RNC cash at Saks et al. Idiots. To echo others' sentiments, you can't polish a turd.

For the record, I think she's lovely (looking). And I have loved some of her clothes. The Kenzo jacket she wore early after her nomination was nicely proportioned and tasteful. The boots, though... not so much.

I wish men's fashion were more exciting. I would enjoy posting about Cheney's muu-muu or Barack's grecian dress, but we're not that lucky, huh?

That Barack looks might hot in a suit, though.

I really liked this when it was a decor blog. I guess I understand that people now apparently come to this for little political rants, but seriously if it is going to be about politics then I'd at least like to see real discussion or learn something new. I just think it's a little sad that it's just all anti-right wing banter. Don't get me wrong- that's not who I am voting for, but reading all this just makes me embarrassed. So, I may check back after the election but might not. It's just not fun here anymore.

from gawker.com:

So the story of Sarah Palin spending $150,000 on clothes? Brother, it gets better. See, the RNC is required by law to list who exactly bought all the fancy clothes. And all the Sarah Palin fancy purchases—at Barney's, Bloomingdale's, and Saks Fifth Avenue—were made by one guy: Jeff Larson.

Jeff Larson is one of the men behind FLS Connect, a Republican robocalling firm! They're famous this cycle for terrible robocalls about Barack Obama and Bill Ayers. And back in 2000, they made their name with robocalls smearing John McCain.

It's funny because John McCain sold his soul and all it got him was a fancy new wardrobe for Sarah Palin.

Somehow I can't help feeling that Palin would look infinitely more believable in her "hockey mom" garb - maybe a jogging suit or sweat pants and a tee shirt - as it would seem to suit her demeanor better. She is so unprofessional in her speech and mannerisms. As others have implied here, you just can't make chicken soup out of chicken poop. She's a joke, plain and simple. Maybe after the election she can be a Walmart greeter..........

100 suits x $1500 = $150,000

Let's do talk policy. What is Biden's policy if you want to talk ,since he has been in Washington, what 30 some years, I am sure he has one. More programs for the people, well who the heck is going to pay for these programs? Please tell me what he and Obama are going to actually do. All I have heard is former Bush policy. So please give us some answers, I have heard none. What is he going to do to stop company's going out of business and laying people off? We are waiting with bated breath. One more question as this announced on news today. Why will Biden ( who has had aneurysm's or Obama, who has a family illness of early deaths either one will not reveal their full medical historys? Especially since Obama is a heavy smoker. And by the way, his own campaign released the info that his suits were $1500 but what does that matter, as it only seems to matter what Sarah spends on clothes, not Michelle Obama with her designer dresses . And I am sure the Bidens shop at Walmart for clothes Get real.
I agree with magchunk Zip It or give us some real answers.

Anonymous said...

anon 3:27

You aren't able to find any of this information on the Internet because...?

Anonymous said...

FYI - Biden's medical stats were published yesterday. Google it and see for yourself...

Anonymous said...

$1500 is about the norm for a well-tailored man's suit. Most good quality men's suits come with two pairs of pants and a tailor spends a considerable amount of time fitting and altering them, and his labor is included in the price of the suit. Further, men's suits don't generally go out of style very often, so get years and years of wear, unlike trendier women's clothing.

I guess we'll have to find out which Goodwill or Salvation Army thrift store to go to if we want to buy Palin's post election castoffs, as her people say they are slated for charity........I always buy my clothes at Neiman Marcus, too, so that the poor women in this country can wear better quality clothing, don't you???????

"Who was the highest paid individual in Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign during the first half of October as it headed down the homestretch?

Not Randy Scheunemann, Mr. McCain’s chief foreign policy adviser; not Nicolle Wallace, his senior communications staff member. It was Amy Strozzi, who was identified by the Washington Post this week as Gov. Sarah Palin’s traveling makeup artist, according to a new filing with the Federal Election Commission on Thursday night.

Ms. Strozzi, who was nominated for an Emmy award for her makeup work on the television show “So You Think You Can Dance?”, was paid $22,800 for the first two weeks of October alone, according to the records."

Iheartfashion said...

Keep up the political rants, Decorno! Anyway, this is a matter of style and politics. Comments about what the Obamas spend on their clothes are irrelevant as they are not paid for by DNC money. No one is questioning the $125,000 worth of clothes and jewelry Cindy McCain wore to the Republican convention because she's a beer heiress and it's her money.
But Palin has built her image on railing against the "elites" and appealing to "Joe Six-Pack" and "Kmart Moms", so there's an obvious hypocrisy in dropping $75 in one afternoon at Neiman Marcus. It's twice as much as Joe the Plumber made last year!
Not to mention the $21,000 Palin billed the state of Alaska last year for her childrens' travel and hotel stays. Wouldn't we all love to be able to take our kids on business trips and send the $700/night hotel bill to our employer. Seems to me she's not so much a reformer as a grifter!

Anonymous said...
