Did you see Adele on SNL last night? Did you think, "Who is this girl?" and then as she really got going did you think, "Holy shit."
Or listen to her sing it stripped-down and acoustic.
Me likey.

She breaks my heart every time without fail.
I know! I've had this stuck in my head for weeks now.
And her face! Those lips! My god...
If only cracked-out Amy Winehouse were sober enough to really understand that this girl is owning her game. Poor Wino.
She is the bomb-- although I missed it on SNL-- I hear her on public radio all the time. Thank God the rest of the world finally gets to hear this voice.
Yes and YES.
Oh, yes, me lovey.
It occurred to me to look her up last night but due to my adult ADD I had completely forgotten about her until this second. Thanks, D.
I've been a fan of hers for a long time now. My iPod is stuck on Melt My Heart To Stone. I walk the dog and can't help singing out loud. Yes, the neighborhood thinks I'm crazy. So what of it. She breaks my heart.
Kwana, me too! My poor neighbors have been getting alot of dog-walking Jeff Buckley and Liz Phair karaoke from me lately.
Loved it, quite beautiful.
You know she's good when she sounds better on SNL than on VHI. She totally killed it.
She is amazing. If you don't already have the cd I would highly recommend purchasing it immediately. It is truly wonderful.
I saw her a few weeks ago on the View (yes I watch that show) and was blown away -i was so happy to see her on SNL!
The only song I've heard of hers is a cover of the Strokes song, "Last Night." Adele completely owns it! She's great!
Thanks for sharing because I completely forgot to find out about her after I heard that cover song played on eastvillageradio.com. The show I like (and you might like, too) is called Sandy Acres Sound Lab.
She was a damn sight better than Palin in her hooker boots. WTF?
beautiful voice and beautiful woman.
I've been listening to her for months now. There was a wonderful interview with her a few weeks ago on NPR. Also she was recently quoted, re her weight, that frankly she didn't care what teenage boys alone in their rooms thought about her; she wasn't changing herself for them. Bravo. Fabulous voice, no?
I have to agree ...she was awesome.
I saw her when she played the Triple Door back in June (I think?) and she was awesome.
She was also supposed to be playing Bumbershoot this year, but cancelled at the last minute....AFTER I'd bought my ticket :(
i am very soft hearted
always broken heart
anyways
YES
I am so with you! It was like the needle on the record player jumped-hello! Great acoustic version too-thanks!
that was my exact reaction. She was amazing!
The title of the post is quite catching, thanks God nothing practicle in there. Thanks for the awesome blog.
