Oscar noms are out today.

I remember telling my fiance as we left the theater that I didn't really like Benjamin Buttons. I thought the movie was a little too Forest Gump-y. I was right.

I cannot believe it was nominated for 13 Academy Awards.

You can read the lists of nominated films and actors HERE.

My fingers are crossed the little miss Anne Hathaway collects some hardware. If you haven't seen RACHEL GETTING MARRIED, see it before Oscar night. I never thought much about that Disney princess until I saw her in that movie. Wow.

Yeah...I think the "Button" is overrated...and 13 nominations?!? Seriously?

That video is hysterical! I HATED the Gump! Think Button is better than that...but not 13 better. :(

Really wanna see Rachel Getting Married!

major love for anne...seems like she has a sense of humor. But I think Kate Winslet will win it. The oscars are as bad as the emmys for nominating and rewarding mediocre stuff. And they wonder why their ratings are tanking.

I never even bothered to see 'Button' because I thought the exact same thing... although, now I feel as though I should see it... but if you say it's overrated, then I'll trust your judgement and not waste my time. I've heard the same from others.

I love me some Anne, but I just adore Kate winslet.

Don't see Buttons. It's a waste of time.

You know how I feel about Rachel Getting Married - best movie of 2008. Anne better win the prize.

I have no desire to see BB though I LOVE Cate Blanchett, I'll wait till it hits Netflix.

We are serious about the Oscar's - our tradition we always splurge on a decent bottle of champagne and make something labor intensive for dinner.

It's just how we roll.

I'm surprised about Buttons too and more surprised by the shutout of Revolutionary Road. That movie blew me away. I love Kate and Leo in it. I don't think the academy could handle the strong subject matter. I'm happy for Anne Hathaway. I've always liked her even in Ella Enchanted but I have kids so I've been watching her for a while.

Love that Mickey Rourke got nominated - for a role that he did not get paid for. Love that he thanked his dogs in his Golden Globe acceptance speech. Love that he's gonna show up with dirty hair, sunglasses and some bad pimpy outfit. Love an underdog -- and a comeback story

I am bummed that Revolutionary Road was snubbed too. I am sorry, but Slumdog Millionaire was kind of hokey. The Indian film, "Water" that came out a few years ago was so much better.

Love Oscar season! Button was fantastic just for the makeup.

I can't believe Grand Torino didn't get nominated. That was a GREAT film. Clint Eastwood is still the stud he always was.

Rachel Getting Married was really great. The actress who plays her sister was really fantastic too.

I'm in shock that Kate Winslet didn't get nominated for "Revolutionary Road." I preferred her in that film to "The Reader." I hate saying this, but it's like, well, "The Reader brought up the Holocaust, so . . ." Grrr.

Best actress will definitely be my favorite race though!

Water was a very badly made film, the lead actress could barely speak Hindi and I lost my respect for the director for casting a pretty face and not even bothering to find an actress who spoke the language properly.

I'd like to ask this question about "Rachel getting Married"-
Did no one think it was strange that Rachel wanted to get married in a sari when she was not marrying an Indian man? Why did this character want to wear wedding clothes that had no relevance to her background?
The movie had too many false notes in it for me to take it seriously.

Going to now see Rachel Getting Married & seeing Revolutionary Road tomorrow. Surprised too that it was shut out. D:

Crazy... Benjamin Button 13/Gran Torino 0!

Zero? It was an amazing film. It should win for "Last Best American Car" at least!

Button bored me. It was sappy and an hour too long. I hope Mr. Rourke wins. What a performance!

I am so happy to know that I am not the only person in the country who didn't like Forrest Gump.
