Ikat graveyard.

Chair covered in Obama fabric. Who knew?

That slab on top is like 6 inches of marble. Holy cow. I totally want it.
I think it was $4000 or something. Ouch.

Madeline Weinrib rugs as far as the eye could see.
You know, I want to dislike all her rugs now because she's just... everywhere.
But there were some really interesting rugs in these piles.

ABC Carpet & Home has got to be the only reason I'd consider moving to NYC.... happy hunting!
I love this store so much, but it's just so insanely overpriced.
OK, who's the smartass who came up with the inivitation to sit on the president's face?
No recess for you!
I love ABC (as overpriced as it may be), it's kind of orgasmic actually! I am in support of the President but not in support of that chair...however that is what I love about ABC if it will be anywhere it will be there.
I can't even let myself go in that store...
I LOVE the thick thick marble tabletop!
I wish they would start selling from their website...think you could do something about that?
God, I want that chair.
they are soooooooooooooo good. expensive yes but you can be expensive and shitty vs expensive and amazing. how much was that carved sofa with the circle in the middle of the back? like 8k?
Thank you for letting me live vicariously through you as you stroll around ABC. It’s got to be my favorite store. Love, love, love the marble slab table.
Love the batshit crazy chandelier. OOH. AAH. And just knowing there is Obama uphostery out there takes things to a whole new (low) level. Crikey. Talk about trendy!
ooh - glassware and fragile things precariously placed, just waiting for me to knock over and smash with my too big handbag. i'm not grown up enough for these kind of shops.
You know, you can replicate that thick marble by stacking 1-in. pieces and covering the sides with a piece to fit. Somehow.
I've seen it in a kitchen and you can't tell and it's much less expensive.
That chandelier is perfect! Love it!
Oooooooo, I want to go there!
Love your way with words: Totally batshit crazy chandelier. Thanks for the Fab Vintage & Flea Market pics.
Thanks for the photos of ABC! All my designer friends who used to live in NYC rave about ABC here on the West Coast. Last time I was in NYC, I didn't have time to peek in (kicking self!!!). I love Madeline Weinrib's sense of geometry. Too bad Pottery Barn is knocking her off!!!
Love your choice of words"Totally batshit crazy chandelier". Thanks for the Great Vintage & Flea-market pics form ABC Home...
I think the Obama fabric is going to far, I wouldn't feel comfortable sitting on the president's face, or anyone's face for that matter.
Those wooden tablesare lovely.
I will totally duke it out with you over that marble table!
ABC Carpet and Home, such a treasure trove. I think the owner searches for artisans around the globe. I wish she would open a shop in DC!
I need to make a pilgrimage STAT.
Love the tables, but they were probably more than I'd want to spend.
I always try to guess first at ABC: "ok...$8,000!!!" and then I look at the tag and it is inevitably $12,000.
Just totally, not doable.
Fun to look at though.
ABC is expensive. The secret is to go there during their sales. And not everything is outrageously priced. I bought a table there a couple weeks ago that resembles the ones Decorno loved but with a super cool metal tin top. I scored it for just over $1,000 because it was a sale item.
This post and your last one on Redticking in Seattle.... what great stores!!! I've never been to ABC Carpet & Home in NYC - it's really cool to see pics of the interiors of these great stores.
Thanks for sharing!
I heart ABC fully. It IS my idea of heaven.
Shame I live on the other side of the world, but its like a pilgrimage to my wholly land visiting there!!
LOve the store ,they give you a feeling your walkink in a magazine!!!
thank for the pictures give me the sensation of being there ,I took pictures too.
