Is this the new 1st Dibs?

HERE.

Hope so. 1st Dibs needs some competition. Oh, 1st Dibs, land of the lady-blogger love and the $4000 white pierced porcelain lamp. Come on, now.

so true!! I do like perusing the so called Saturday Sale on 1st Dibs! I guess vintage does command a price for some of the mid century design icons... I myself am a fan..

I went to the site, love the layout and how it is so easy to navigate... they do need to build on inventory though... loved the teak desk by Jalk... fab!

The true competitor to 1stDibs is Bond & Bowery www.bondandbowery.com. Much larger inventory, superb search, simple and intuitive navigation and was actually used as the model for fyndes. There is no one out there that can even compare to B&B. I know, as I am a dealer on several sites including 1stDibs and B&B.

Thank you for the link; I'd never heard of fyndes before.

Coincidentally, I spent today wandering about some mid-century stores in New York. I went to Las Venus, Modern Living Supplies and White Trash (still taken aback at that name-how do you think they answer the phone!).
It seemed like they had all increased their prices a fair bit so when they offered a 20% discount, they would still get their old prices. I didn't buy anything but it was fun looking at chairs and lamps.

The spelling of that name, Fyndes, reminds me of Tobias Funke (with two little dots over the "u", I don't know what they are called or how to type them) on Arrested Development. Anyway, it looks like a cool site but it is an awfully stupid name!

I've seen the inventory on vintageandmodern and fynds or whatever it's called. Not good.

I am looking for a web site like 1stdibs.com or bondandbowery.com to showcase my products which are not really antiques, but the finest Italian OLD WORLD Majolica from Tuscany.
My products could fit in the sites mentioned above, but, I would prefer someting less focused on antique but on home accents decor...

Any suggestion anybody?

Thank you.

How do you become a dealer on 1st dibs?

Try www.revisionchicago.com - 1st Dibs style without the prices. They ship nationwide.

I tried narrowing down the search several ways in Bond & Bowery and, heads up dealers, I could not find listings narrowed down by city (example: I was looking in Chicago). I tried using different search criteria, and it wasn't working either. Good luck with that.
