It's beautiful, but who's Jackie?

A reader. She sent these photos in today. Isn't this kitchen amazing? I would kill for the space. My kitchen is the size of a closet.

It's perfect in every way. xoxo

Bananas. I die.

Now that I'm done channeling Rachel Zoe....love it. Clean, bright, warm. Relates to the outdoors really well. Terrific lighting, touches of wood have huge impact.

Well done Jackie.

Look at all that buffet space. You could entertain forty people without any of them getting under foot.

The wood base on that table balances everything perfectly - plus it's rounded so it will be a good footrest in the morning.

The choice of a french door paired with large window is much better than double french doors. You've saved yourself a lot of space.

I refuse to be jealous of the chef's sink because I can't maintain my one sink - much less a second one. I throw cutting board inserts on top and pretend everything is shiny underneath.

Very nice!!
Yet another example to show my husband that subway tile is NOT only for just bathrooms!
I love it. And the lighting is great!

I was going to buy this house...ohhh lucky Jackie. I guess she had a higher bid. I was sad for days. If you think the kitchen is nice you will die if you see the family room. :( love this house.

It is a very soothing kitchen. It feels like it would be a calm and relaxing place to cook and plan meals (I always imagine myself calmly planning and then cooking these effortlessly delicious meals, but of course that hasn't happened as yet.)

I haven't seen many new white kitchens in Manhattan. I live in a condo building which has the usual suspects-black granite counters, some cabinets finished in a maple/beech(?) veneer and stainless steel everything. I think white is very elegant.

Stunning...soooooo jealous!

It's really nice. D, I wonder if yours might not be a smaller version with similar lovliness? White cabinetry, marble, dark wood on the floor.

Not exactly my taste but good for her.

Love, love, love the kitch! And I think I spy a Tim Bavington on the wall! Way cool!

Oh, I am sooooo loving this! Love all the white with the wood floor (no I'm not jealous!). Crisp, clean & yet warm & welcoming. (sighs) while looking at ancient, peeling linoleum and white painted (pressed wood)cabinets that are chipping.

No, I am mad about it.

Love the fridge and wine cooler. I'm actually drooling over the wine cooler since I'm on the Prohibition Train!

I think it's boring. But definitely a well-executed example of the kind of white kitchen that is so popular now.

Lauren said...

Boring, no. Classic yes. I'd love details about it, but since Anon 3:57 put a bid on the house, I'm guessing Jackie didn't do the work? Still, details would be nice.

"I think it's boring."

Who cares? It's a workroom. It doesn't need to meet the conventional expectations we have of an "interesting" room.

Lolo said...

I could live with that. A touch toooo white but still, I could live with it and all of its envy inducing space, light and goodies.

I gotta disagree here. I just can't get into the all-white kitchen look. This looks WAY too sterile and hospital-y for me. I like living in an organic environment without the stark whites, pimary colors, and geometric shapes.

I still love you though, Decorno. :)

I know Jackie...and yes the rest of the home is quite beautiful.

It's....contemporary, Californian, simplistic, sterile and very, very WHITE!

***I really like it! The fridges are FABULOUS, and there's BREATHING SPACE in here~~~ (ALWAYS a BIG PLUS!!!!)~~~ Lovely!!! Thanks! Linda

Too whitewhitewhite and OCD for me. I'd be terrified about spilling something. Or leaving a fingerprint.

Jessica Claire said...

not crazy about the lack fo colour in the accessories but I love the layout and all of the fancy viking equipment - that is quite the warming drawer under that fridge!

Lovely. Anyone who says otherwise is a hater. So lovely!
Can you share what those counters are made of??
