2 hours from Seattle on lovely Hood Canal and a mere $550 a month mortgage payment. 10 buckets of white paint, a few squishy couches, build a proper deck along the view side of the house, add some nice light fixtures inside, stain the floors dark or paint them white, tame the landscape, buy kayak, invite friends over. Voila. Instant vacation house.

Yes, please!

I'll take it! And, I'd probably be happy to consider it my regular everyday house, not just for vacations!

You should buy it.

Holy cow. That's about what I pay a WEEK in rent on my shitbox apartment (complete with CONSTANTLY leaking bathroom ceiling) in central London. I need to get out of this city.

Cute and cuter. It has lots of potential. But I'd probably spend too much time stretched out, watching the canal to actually pursue any of those plans. Just give me a hammock.

Sign me up! That would be worth the commute to downtown seattle for work too!

what are you waiting for?

Hey, don't swap this project for your trip to Italy. You must go to Italy!!

Vacation homes always require buggy-eyed drunk caretakers for the off-season.

Make friends with somebody who has a vacation house.

Decorno said...

Why am I waiting? I am trying to convince the man... plus we need to go look at it first.

Don't worry, I am still going to Italy. :)

found it! seems like a great deal, but is that a drop off to the shoreline or actual "beach"? probably no access to the water. gotta have oysters! let us know if you check it out! love hood canal.

Decorno said...

Oh, I am pretty damn sure there is no access to the water. Not for the price.

forget the deck - just put those garage type doors in for the 2 weeks out of the year you want to sit outside

$550 a month. Cool once the kids are out I could sell my place in NY and live Phat like forever there on past dreams of my life in NY. Just writing and looking at the water. I know who says Phat anymore?
