"One thing we cannot do is articulate why we like something," Vogel says. "That was frustrating to the filmmaker, but I never studied art history, so I never learned the vocabulary of talking about art. It's just a gut feeling."
I need to see THIS.

me too!
I've read about them, but didn't know there was a movie! They are too cool.
Thanks for the tip. What a fascinating couple whose love of art is now an inspiring documentary. Who would of thunk!!
This is amazing and I want to see it also. My hubby is a 'professional artist' which really only means that he supports our family of four through his paintings. One of his clients is our 'Herb and Dorothy'.
They live in a nice, yet modest home - are retired (80+ yrs), have never owned a car, ride bikes to get around and have so many paintings that even the furnace room is floor to ceiling decorated.
Thanks for posting this!
they are fabulous.
I really hope it comes to Chicago!
What an inspiration they are! Can't wait to see the documentary.
I can't wait! It's going to start showing here this weekend.
oh yes, they are amazing! I didn't know a documentary was being made about them how wonderful! Damn friggin' Chuck Close is interviewed about them...rock on.
I LOVE the fact that they can't articulate why they like something, that is true art-love. Most art people are like wine people...sometimes they have all the fancy words but they're still annoying as f*ck. Just because you can deconstruct someone doesn't make you an expert.
art is simple you either like it or you don't and if you don't...someone else will along the way.
