Unusually good food and wine pairing:

Kraft Mac & Cheese and Columbia Crest Two Vines Merlot.

Just FYI

"Columbia Crest." Wouldn't it be awesome if there was a real "Falcon Crest" wine, with Jane Wyman's steely face on the label?

HA! Yes.

We need to ask SGM to make this happen for us. She's got the mad photoshop skillz.

Columbia Crest Vinyard 10 is my fave cheap red blend. $5.99 at Rite Aid... can't beat it.

I hope this was actual Kraft Mac & Cheese, not that shit that comes in the little cup. That would be trashy.

I will have to try this. I have challenged my neighbors to a cook-off using only ingredients from Rite Aid and I think this could fit the bill. Other not-so-well-known pairings include Nutter Butters/Heineken and Coors Lite/Devils Food Cake donuts.

Oh, so now you're too good for Kool-Aid and Nyquil?

Decorno said...

Yeah, maybe. So what? I've got class now.

I love the comments on your posts, Decorno. And I must say, Sarah's made me laugh out loud for real.

And if you want to really jazz up your Kraft Mac and cheese, use half the amount of milk and replace it with Greek yoghurt, and then add a few drops of truffle oil. Of course, that might call for an $11 bottle of wine.

Vodka martinis (olive) also work well with Kraft mac and cheese.

For days when wine just won't cut it.

It was just made for foodies like me! Even it is not the best wine ever, I would be willing to taste it.
Don't you know, will it be possible to buy it also in Toronto?
Thank you

You were right. This is damn good stuff. The Merlot is almost buttery. Thanks!

Cindy - yes! It really does taste like there is a stick of butter in the bottle. Delicious.

Columbia Crest is my favorite too. I stocked up at one time and gave it away as gifts.
