I am having a Michael Bargo moment.

The upstairs floors are sanded and Seattle floor guru Tommy Tran's team will stain them dark tomorrow. Yay. Today I am painting. Good-bye crappy beige, hello totally uninspired white. I realize I should shoot for color, but I am having a Michael Bargo moment with a touch of Fawn-Galli-esque love of chrome. I found two chrome chairs this weekend and really want to get one and have it reupholstered in orange leather, just to give the room a shot of heroin, you know?

We'll see.

The first chair I found is just like these white chairs above.

Loving these chairs, too.

A shot of heroin sure beats a pop of color! The MB images I like.

Room and Board has repros in the style similar to those in the second picture. I spent some time with them this weekend and can attest that they are loving and sensitive.

I really like these 2 chairs. Did a recent post on them in distressed cargo canvas.

For more chairs like that, look on eBay for "Milo Baughman chair" and "Thayer Coggin chair." (Baughman designed for the Thayer Coggin company.)

(And second Jennifer's experience: Room & Board is excellent to buy from.)

Yes - totally agree - my husband found 2 of these, which I wanted to throw out ( he's a chair addict ), until he had them redone in hot pink leather. I was convinced.

Definitely go for the orange leather. Maybe a Hermes orange? That is a great chair. Congratulations on the progress.

Good for you, Decorno. Really liking the round chairs best.
I must admit I am a bit jealous! This economy has hit me hard, I am self-employed and practically out of business. But not to begrudge you a thing! It is just surprising that anyone has money right now to do anything. So I am living vicariously. Please keep us frequently updated of all your remodeling adventures. Pictures too, please!

There are more fun metal chair's here http://designzie.com/metal-chairs/117/

You can totally find these chairs on ebay and craigslist and make them AMAZING with great fabric. I wonder if orange will scream 70's?

DO you know where I can find a geometic table like that shown in the first image?

Arched Brows - I know, it's odd to be spending money on my house now given how shitty the economy is, but we put off repairs for a very long time (about 5 years) and we saved up to do a series of projects (kitchen, plaster work, two bathrooms [next spring], & the walls, floors, and ceilings upstairs). I have a partner, and we have been very lucky - no layoffs in our house during this rough economic time. We've been able to keep doing small projects and hiring out a little bit of work here and there. I'll post some befores/afters when it's closer to done. :)

Love the chairs. White IS inspired for your walls, imho. I have colour everywhere and I'm fed up with it. I'm so craving BM Simply White for my office right now that I can practically taste it. Sweet and airy like a meringue. Yum. I can't imagine regretting white walls.

Good luck in your projects.

Love it! I am tackling a similar issue: I usually go for saturated paint colors, but as I am working on our living room, I am trying to practice some restraint. Yesterday I finally settled on a barely grey shade - now on the fun part, actually painting!

This spaces look so fresh - this is just what I needed to see.

Having lost years of my life trying to find the perfect shade of white, what's the perfect Decorno white?

Oh god, I am right there with you. I am STILL losing years of my life trying to find it. I do not have the answer to this question. I am going to post your question, however, tonight or tomorrow to round up recommendations from other.

Tommy Tran sure gets around. Thank god you found him, he's awesome.

Also, Trove Interiors did a post on the best whites awhile back. She's a Seattle designer too, so I would bet that many are "Seattle-tested, Seattle-approved."
