Did you watch?

Who watched How to Make It in America? (New HBO show produced by Mr. Entourage, Mark Wahlberg.)

HBO will let you watch the first episode on You Tube HERE. (You have to sign in first.)

The music is really good. In order to get suckers like me to talk about the show, HBO is offering up free download of show music HERE, provided you become a "fan" of the show on Facebook. It's worth it. Especially for Alec Blacc's "I Need a Dollar," which is also the theme song for the show.

I liked the show. Gawker does not. (Gawker hates everything, which is sort of its charm...)

The first episode is sort of slow and uneven, but the last 10 minutes started to go, and now that we know what Ben and Cam are up to, I am really excited for episode two.

Let me know what you think of it.

I'm excited to have a new show now that I have officially divorced Lost and The Office.

Watched and loved it, it stars NYC AND great tunes, I am cheap that way. Never watched Lost, why not liking Office?

try Hung on HBO

my favorite and my best said...

did not watch it as my husband has divorced hbo.

i too have divorced the office.

i cannot divorce lost in it's last season. it would be like divorcing someone with terminal cancer.
i love it anyway...

I've never heard of the show, but must watch it immediately. I love Bryan Greenburg! Did you ever see the movie Prime?

I've divorced Hung, too. Bummer, because it had so much promise. Love that chick but hated the guy. Slow, boring, plodding stories. Ugh. I tried. I really did.

Over The Office because it's just run its course, you know? I am never surprised anymore because I just assume the most awkward thing they could do, and there it is. It's not bad, it's just that we've seen it all before. Plus, Jim and Pam shouldn't have gotten together.

Lost owes me at least 20 hours of my life back. Slow, plodding, ridiculous. Sometimes very good, sometimes very funny, but mostly just like they are playing a big joke on me and that joke is called WASTING MY TIME. MFAMB, you're a better woman than me, because if Lost is like a person with a terminal illness, I would gladly administer the lethal dose. I would divorce him at his bedside. That's how irritated I have become with Lost.

Nikki - haven't seen Prime... I will check it out.

i liked it...hubby says yes, too. the music, the actors, the way it looks. looking forward to the next show and interested to see how it evolves.

thanks for sharing...we don't have a tv, so this is fun for us!

californication - showtime seriously good.

I wish I had HBO because I have a huge crush on that boy in the photo – wasn't he was the little hottie on lipstick jungle for the 2 seconds it was on tv?

Dwight and Michael sucked all the oxygen out of The Office. It was the minor characters--especially Kelly, Phyllis, Kevin, and Creed--that made that show potentially great.

Best thing on HBO: Big Love.

I'm still sulking over HBO pulling out before finishing Deadwood or John From Cincinnati. Fuck getting fooled three times.

Archer and Modern Family are my only two regulars these days.

Finished with Lost a long time ago and Office is my most recent divorce. I think making Jim comanager was as bad as having him marry Pam. Couldn't get into Hung for the reasons you state. I'm afraid 30 Rock might be next.

I really liked it the show. Bryan Greenberg is such a cutie and I just found it really amusing. His character kind of reminded me of the guy he played in the movie Prime. Downtown hipster kid, trying to make it, running in different circles...

Is anyone watching Modern Family on ABC?

I'm REALLY liking it, it's consistently pretty funny as far as network sitcoms go.

And The Office, for me, is hanging by a VERY THIN thread. And can someone please tell me why the hell Parks & Rec is still on? That shit needs to go.

Best show on HBO: True Blood
Best show on TV right now: Mad Men
Best show on DVD: The Wire
Lost, you can suck my left titty because I can't quit your broke ass.

i commend you for ditching LOST. i'm tempted.

Meh. It feels like it is really reaching for that young demographic (not me). At the end, my husband and I both exclaimed "the good news is that it is only 30 minutes!" So we didn't feel like we wasted much time on it. And Luis Guzman is another plus.

Best series on TV? Breaking Bad.

I will have to try this one. Lost and I were only friends with benefits and I stopped calling at the end of last season due to lousy performance. The Office has nothing left for me and like most marriages will only get more tedious this season when the baby comes. I took up with Damages when Life disappeared and I am all the better for it. It's dark, brooding, sexy, and a little bit dangerous.

I really liked it. Has a lot of potential.

Still watching Lost because I need answers.

Do you watch Weeds? I highly recommend it. I think it's the best show on TV. The last season (5) just came out on dvd. You can easily catch up in a week.

My favorite crush is Kell on Earth. LOST has deceived me.

I second Archer and will also throw out there Bored to Death on HBO. I usually love anything on HBO (when is the new season of Curb starting?) so I will definitely check out How to Make it

Decorno, have you lost your edge?

I'm afraid I concur with Gawker, who, btw, completely and utterly nailed the program's many shortcomings in his critique.

Also divorced The Office and agree that they should not have made him co-manager. The things that made it super funny are now what I hate the most about it. I am currently legally separated from 30 Rock but am open to wooing.
Love Damages on FX, this is the third season and it is exquisite! I love The Middle on NBC, for the kid that whispers to himself.

I could never stay with The Office because Steve Carell and the Dwight guy both bug me.

Love Modern Family, but I have a relative on the show so I'm biased. I also love Castle because I have a crush on Nathan Fillion.

Tried to divorce Dexter but got sucked back in time to get broadsided at the end.

Finally I'm still mad at Showtime for dropping Dead Like Me.

I completely agree about the office....totally jumped the shark "look how cute jim and pam are now that they're together" barf....

But yes, I watch Modern Family and it's the best new thing on tv. I like parks and rec though, too...why no love there Anon? give it a chance, it's gotten a lot better

Thank god no one mentioned Glee. Seriously, that show annoys the hell out of me.

Thanks for the tip, I'll catch this one next time. I do remember that guy from 'Prime', which I hated.

Am afraid to admit that Lost has disappointed me this season, but I'm with 'my favorite and best'. I've invested too much time watching, analyzing, reading Doc Jensen, etc. Darlton: The payoff better be worth it!

I loved the wedding episode of 'The Office' but since then I've unfriended it on FB and blocked its texts.

'Modern Family' and 'Damages': we're flirting...

'Hung' and 'Mad Men': Finally, some real men... I'm stalking you, call me back!

I just watched it. It's not for me.

Best shows I'm watching these days: Big Love, Breaking Bad & Nurse Jackie.

Of course, Mad Men is awesome. I can't wait to see the next season and patiently awaiting the return of Breaking Bad.

Did you watch The Wire? It's brilliant.

Decorno said...

David - I can't believe you tried to divorce Dexter! I love it so much. I am thinking about getting a killing henley just to wear while watching it.

Kristen B-

I've tried, I REALLY have. But all I see when Amy is talking, is a female Michael Scott. There is no variation AT ALL in her speech patterns, timing, etc.
It drives me MAD! It's like when they were trying to tweak the show to keep it on, they said "everyone likes the Office, lets go that route" With EVERY character, I sit there and say, "okay, that's Dwight, oh, there's Stanley, etc."

I don't know...Maybe its just me. :)

lucitebox said...

I broke up with Dexter, but we got back together. I'm glad I gave it a second chance!

Love Dead Like Me! I could watch the same two seasons over and over again. Why Showtime, Why?

Being from NYC, I have to say I love all things shot in NYC. "Oh look, there is my stoop on Mercer Street." But this show was way bland.

Like last night's left over wine, I'll drink it, but only cause there's nothing else going on. :)

I'm watching "Modern Family" now. It's very pleased with itself, isn't it.

I have had a huge crush on Bryan Greenburg for years now! Dangit, yet another reason why I need HBO

Friday Night Lights.

The music on the opening credits alone makes me cry, for gawdsakes. Have to say I am missing Tyra terribly in Season 4 (and screentime for Lorraine Saracen for that matter....) But still madly in love with both Coach Taylor and Riggins....

We don't get any TV reception where I live, so we try to keep up via Netflix & hulu -- enjoyed those clips posted from "Community" a while back - where is that at now?

Cool, I'll give it a shot! I like to hear about new good shows from someone who also likes the office.
