If decor is your porn, this is your blog.
Can't stop listening to this. It's so jumpsuit-and-Chloe-Sevigny-with-a-little-coke-on-her-nose.
This is not the kinda fun I usually find at Decorno. I love surprises!
This brings me back to the good old disco days of Ibiza and Studio 54!!!!
Love it. It's like Blondie and Talking Heads making out.
I forgot that music can transport you....ooops, I am in platform shoes...smiles.
Yes! I see this song in one of the vignettes in a movie similar to Paris, je t'aime, but maybe set in Brooklyn or something.
A little bit of Bananarama too.
...with a little bit of The Waitresses and Kajagoogoo mixed in. How retro.
oh I've loved this song for a while didn't know who did it
but forgot to say...I was reminded more of a Blondie/Bow Wow Wow 'I Want Candy' moment
I.love.this! (sniff sniff)
I'm inspired!Your timing on this was perfect! Actually, it was the post on Making it In America from the other day. It was just what I needed. Sometimes it's the little things...like a groovy soundtrack (specifically Yacht's 'Psychic City' and Duck Sauce's 'Anyway' from it) that snapped me out of my funk. I've been going through the whole "is the East Coast where I want to be?" after a move from Colorado that proved that it's more of a culture shock than I expected out here. Without sounding like a Whitney Houston tribute show on BET, you give good lovin', Decorno! Thanks
Gawd that IS addicting. I just managed to hit "play" three times in a row - what it's over already? One more time, one more time!
LOVE this. And if you like a little shambolic pop with your disco:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuoTjYYqe4c
Wasn't that playing at the gallery opening in the first episode of How to Make it in America? It caught my ear too. Indie/retro vibe.
How fun to hear this at 6 am! thanksKit
i love it too! i also love your dead-on witty description of the music; that's what initially drew me in. hope you're having a wonderful week!xo urban flea :)http://www.urbanfleadesign.net
That's not coke.
Newell - yes! It's included in that free "mix tape" I mentioned the other day. I have been listening to the sountrack for days now. Very addictive, especially this one.
Francine and I must have been at Studio 54 on the same night! The first thing that sprang into my mind! Fully visualized! The one and only time we were at Studio 54! They were playing that song!YIKES!!! LOVE IT! That was when they had ropes across the front and some bouncer decided if you were "hip" enouigh!(don't ask me why we got in.....must have been my very cool and handsome husband!)
dammit, Decorno!!! *hits play for the 8th time*
"The one and only time we were at Studio 54! They were playing that song!"Which song, Penny? Studio 54 closed in 1986. This song was released last year.
They're even better in person -- totally crazy and fearless and weird. And if you're standing up front, they will FORCE you to dance. In front of everyone.
