How to open a book.



This is what I love about Powell's bookstore in Portland. The bossy sign taped up in the architecture & art section to remind you to quit fucking breaking the spines.

You can't be a book lover and disrespect its spine. You just can't.

Wow, I did not know any of this. I didn't believe it of course so I Googled it and found an article with pictures. This provided instructions about breaking in a book, which it sounds like this is about, rather that just opening a book. Shouldn't the book proprietor really be breaking in the book? What a nice insert from Amazon this would be!
